日期的表示法

1. 日期的写法（书面语）和读法（口语）稍有不同。

如“十月一日”可以写成 October 1, October 1st, 1 October, 1st October, (the) 1st of October 等，表示月份的词也可用缩略式，如 Oct. 1, 1 Oct.

但是在口语中通常只有两种读法 October (the) first 或 the first of October。

2. 当日期与星期排列时，通常是星期在前，日期在后。

如：He arrived on Friday, May 10. 他于5月10日(星期五)到达。

3. 月份：

1月 January 2月 February

3月 March 4月 April 5月 May

6月 June 7月 July 8月 August

9月 September 10月 October

11月 November 12月 December

4. 星期：

周一 Monday 周二 Tuesday

周三 Wednesday 周四 Thursday

周五 Friday 周六 Saturday

时间的表达方法

英语中时间的表达方法主要有直接法和借用介词法等。

（1）直接法

上午八点：eight AM （a.m.）　　

下午九点：nine PM （p.m.）

六点六分：six six

六点三十二分：six thirty two　

八点正：eight o'clock

（2）借用介词法

八点四十五分：a quarter to nine　　

七点零五分：five past seven

七点五十四分：six to eight　

六点半：half past six

（3）表示正点的用法

十一点正：

at 11 o'clock sharp；

at 11 o'clock on the hour；　

at 11 o'clock on the strike；

正午12点：at noon

午夜12点：at midnight

（4）其它

12点22分：

twelve twenty-two；

twenty-two past twelve（英式说法）；

twenty-two after twelve（美式说法）；

1点15分：

one fifteen；

a quarter past one（英式说法）；

a quarter after one（美英说法）；

8点50分：

eight fifty；

ten to nine（英式说法）；

ten before nine（美式说法）；

1点40分：

one forty；

twenty to two（英式说法）；

twenty before two（美式说法）；

“提前半小时”：

half an hour early；

thirty minutes early；

early by half an hour；

half an hour ahead of time；

half an hour ahead of schedule；

货币的表达方法

（1）英国货币：

penny（便士）/pence （penny的复数）/pound （￡）

￡20.50：

twenty pounds fifty pence；

twenty fifty；

（2）美国货币：

1 dollar= 100 cents（1美元）

（$ 1.00=one dollar）

（$ 2.00=two dollars）

25美分：1 quarter　10美分：1 dime

5美元：1 nickel　 　1美分：1 penny

$ 15.95：

fifteen dollars ninety-five cents；

fifteen ninety-five；

（3）其它表达

表示正常价格：regular price，normal price.

表示价格划算：a good buy，a better buy，an excellent price，a good price/ bargain.

表示价格较贵：dear，expensive，more expensive，steep.

表示价格便宜：cheap，inexpensive，bargain price，less expensive.

表示减价出售：sale price，on sale，garage sale，Christmas sale，special price.

词组：discount，half，double，cut off，knock off，twice as much as ， cross off.
